Belated Birthday Bash Blog entry

To commemorate the big third birthday, we hosted the first "friends" birthday party recently. Eight little friends, their parent(s), grammies, an aunt, and nanny all joined in the fun. Thankfully the weather was very nice and we were able to have lots of fun outside in the bounce house and on the climbing structure. Unfortunately, we didn't take too many pictures, but here are a few from the party.


I'd also made a birthday crown for the Megster, based on an idea from soulemama's book. I was happy with how it came out and I think that the birthday girl liked it alright, but it definitely wasn't exactly a super-I'm-going-to-sleep-in-it-because-I-love-it-so-much type hit.


Next up is writing those thank you notes and working on making a cape to accompany a little witch-y costume.

We have an egg!

One of the happy hens of the Voisin flock has laid the first egg today! What would seem to be a forgone conclusion, we had really started to wonder if we were going to ever see an egg. (Not entirely unlike that feeling of the never-ending pregnancy that approaches and then goes right past the highly anticipated due date without an inkling of a contraction.)


It is an interesting coincidence that it was three years ago today that Meg was born and thus we began the crazy, exhilirating, exhausting, and amazing adventure that is parenting. How is it possible that three years can feel both like yesterday and an eternity ago?

In light of these events, it seemed to be an appropriate time to jump on the blogging bandwagon. Hopefully this will be a means to share our news and updates on some of our crafty, athletic, parenting, and other various adventures.
